Trail Update – March
Our trail crew has been flat out across Finch Hatton MTB, tackling storm repairs, feature rebuilds and general maintenance after a rough run of weather. It’s been a big job, but trails are steadily coming back online.
Here’s the latest rider update.
Closed for now: Green Whistle and Big Bickies remain closed while feature rebuilds continue. Good progress is being made, and the crew is confident both trails will reopen in the next few weeks.
Back open: Chuck A Sickie is back in action after a full top-to-bottom rebuild. Features, jumps and berms have all been reshaped, smoothed and compacted, and it’s riding mint.
Rebuilding: Your Shout upper, middle and lower have all had work done. The lower section is still very wet and muddy, with the crew working extra hard on an alternative exit…. next time your nearby, drop in and see how its progressing.
Use caution: Creek crossings on Kookie and No Drama Cane Farmer are both repaired. Both trails are open. But riders, please continue to use caution as the water is flowing fast and conditions may change. The main creek at the entrance to the park is also crossable, but its also very deep.
On the list: Tinny is in some serious need for some TLC from the last lot of rain. It’s on the list and the crew will be getting into it in the coming weeks. In addition, vegetation is currently out of control! G’Day G’Day is very grassy but the crew will begin fixing that up as soon as they can.
The crew has also completed an alternate exit from Tasty Fig onto lower No Wuckas. the upper section of G’Day G’Day is still currently under maintenance but is open and rideable.
