Mackay Regional Council engaged one of the largest and most experienced mountain bike trail companies in the world, World Trail, to undertake the conception, design and construction of the Finch Hatton trail network.

FINCH HATTON MTB TRAILS HAVE BEEN IMPACTED BY CYCLONE KOJI.

All closures and areas of concern are clearly signed and/or coned. Trailforks and the onsite noticeboard will be updated to reflect the current status.

Finch Hatton MTB trails are one-directional and single-use only. They are free to ride, no bookings required. Open all year round during daylight hours (weather permitting). You can access the trail network via the climbing trail G’Day G’Day.

  • Easy Suitable for mountain bikers with mountain bikes. Single-track with gentle gradients, smooth to variable surfaces, and some avoidable obstacles such as rocks, roots and logs on the primary line.
  • Intermediate Suitable for skilled mountain bikers with mountain bikes. Single-track with moderate gradients, some steep sections, and obstacles such as rocks, roots and logs on the primary line.
  • Difficult Suitable to experienced mountain bikers, used to physically demanding and challenging routes. Single-track, with steep climbs/descents, and dangerous unavoidable obstacles on variable and loose surfaces. Some sections will be easier to walk.
