New Trail Launched!

There’s a new adventure waiting in the Finch Hatton forest, and it’s got a bit of attitude. Meet Kookie, the latest trail to drop into the Finch Hatton MTB lineup: bringing the total to 17 trails now open, with more still to come.

The name? You can thank local legend Jobe, Finch Hatton MTBs Recreation Trails Leading Hand who helped bring Kookie to life. While working on the trail, a kookaburra kept following him around, feasting on worms flicked up by the machinery. Between that cheeky bird and the trail’s chunky, cookie-like features, the name Kookie stuck, and it fits perfectly.

Kookie is what happens when you blend a rocky gully, some clever trail building, and a taste for variety. Starting from Rocky Junction, this blue-rated 501m descent is packed with drops, rock gardens, rock rolls and a couple of log rides for good measure.

Not quite ready to tackle the whole line? No problem. Every feature has a green bypass. Just keep left and cruise on through.

“Kookie had me grinning from start to finish. That rock garden is no joke!”

Casey, Finch Hatton first-timer

This trail is all about adventure, whether you’re levelling up or easing in. It’s not just about the line, it’s about choosing how you ride it. That’s what makes Kookie such a fun addition to the network.

Once you’ve rolled the gully, the trail flattens out and climbs gently before delivering you to Cane Fields Junction, right at the top of the Cane Fields Jump Park. It’s a solid link or a standalone session, depending on your ride plan.

“Loved the options. I stuck to the greens this time but I’ll be back for the full line.”

Trev, intermediate rider

So whether you’re chasing flow, hunting features or just out to try something a little different, Kookie’s ready for you.
