The Criterion Hotel
Looking for a post ride recovery session? Head to the Criterion in Finch Hatton. Grab a cold drink at the bar, where friendly locals are always up for a chat. The menu offers classic pub favourites with a modern twist, from gourmet pies to delicious pizzas, making it a perfect spot to refuel and de-brief the day’s ride.
One Hungry Mumma
One Hungry Mumma (Michelle) is known for using fresh, local ingredients in her award-winning condiments, sauces, chutneys and delicious hampers. Riders can pre-order one of her hampers to enjoy mid-shred sesh at the Trailhead or to take home afterwards. The hampers range from smaller platters for 2-4 people to larger ones that serve up to 10. They are easy to pre-book and pick up from her kitchen which is right next to the FHMTB Trailhead in Finch Hatton. She also specialised in cooking classes and small group events.
Eungella Chalet
At Eungella Chalet, mountain bikers can take in breathtaking views while enjoying a well-deserved break and some scrumptious food. Perched high in the mountains, the chalet offers a range of hearty meals and snacks, perfect for refuelling after an intense ride. This classic country pub, nestled in the Pioneer Valley about a 7-minute drive from FHMTB, is renowned for its massive, mouth-watering pies – a must-try for any visitor. These pies come in a variety of flavours (our pick is the curry pie), and are packed with filling, making them a meal in themselves. The friendly bar is a great spot to grab a drink, chat with locals, and unwind after a day in the saddle.
Cafe Eden, Eungella
Known for its spectacular mountain views, Café Eden serves up a selection of fresh breakfasts and lunches, providing the energy needed to tackle the trails or spotting the elusive platypus at Broken River. This café is weather dependent and won’t be operating on rainy days. Our pick? The steak burger with the lot.
Platypus Lodge Restaurant
Located in scenic forest surroundings, Platypus Lodge Restaurant menu features café-style dishes like burgers, schnitzels, and sandwiches, as well as delicious homemade cakes and is a perfect spot to grab some grub. Hot tip – the forest berry waffles are a standout.
